How often should I get my chimney swept?
At least once a year. If you burn wood or coal regularly, more often is wise, ideally before and after the burning season. We can advise based on your fuel and how much you use your fire.
Do I get a certificate after my chimney is swept?
Yes. As NACS registered sweeps we issue a certificate after every sweep. Many home insurers ask for proof that your chimney has been swept, and buyers often ask for one when you sell your house.
Will sweeping make a mess in my house?
No. We sheet off the fireplace and surrounding floor, seal the opening and work clean, leaving your room as we found it.
Can you remove a bird's nest from my chimney?
Yes. Nests with eggs or chicks are protected by law, so we check first and remove nests once they are no longer in use, then fit a cowl or guard to stop birds returning.
