"We recently had a wood burner installed and couldn't be happier with the service provided. Second time using Cameron and just like the first time he was professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. The installation was carried out to a very high standard, with great attention to detail and respect for our home throughout the process."

Choosing the right stove
Getting the size right matters. A stove that's too powerful for the room will be run too low, which wastes fuel and coats the flue in tar; one that's too small won't keep you warm. We'll look at your room, how you'll use the stove, and whether you want to burn wood only or have the flexibility of a multi-fuel model, then recommend options to suit.
Building Regulations and safety
Installing a stove is notifiable work under Building Regulations, and it must meet the rules on flues, hearths and ventilation. A carbon monoxide alarm is required in the room whenever a new stove is fitted. We'll explain exactly how your installation will be signed off when we quote.
Live in a smoke control area? Much of Greater Manchester is covered by smoke control orders. You can still have a log burner, but it needs to be a Defra-exempt appliance if you want to burn wood. We'll check for you and recommend a suitable model.
Stove servicing and repairs
Already have a stove? We can sweep it and replace worn parts such as glass, fire bricks and baffles, so it runs cleanly and safely again.

Common questions
Do I need a chimney liner for a log burner?
In most cases a liner is recommended, and sometimes it's required, especially if the existing chimney is old, damaged or larger than the stove needs. We'll check your chimney and tell you honestly whether yours needs one.
Do I need a carbon monoxide alarm?
Yes. Building Regulations require a carbon monoxide alarm in the room when a new stove is installed.
Can I have a wood burner in a smoke control area?
Yes, as long as the stove is a Defra-exempt appliance. Otherwise you can only burn approved smokeless fuels. We'll check whether you're in a smoke control area and recommend a suitable stove.
Wood burner or multi-fuel stove?
A wood burner is designed to burn logs only. A multi-fuel stove can burn logs or approved smokeless fuel, which gives you more flexibility. We'll talk through which suits you best.
Can you repair my existing stove?
Yes. We replace stove glass, fire bricks and baffles, and can sweep and check the flue at the same time.
